So,
you have a baby. You have been preparing for this moment for a long
period
of time, but now you realize that there are so many things that you
don't know. And sometimes you even afraid to hurt your child while
giving him/her a bath or decide to cook something for your little
baby. So, at this article we are going to tell you about the tips for
safe bathing.
You
should give a bath to your child not less than two times a week.
Don't leave your child in a bath alone even for a minute, because
he/she may drown even in several inches of water. So, if you need to
answer telephone call or door bell, take a child with you.
Don't
put a child in the bath if the water is still running. It may change
its temperature, so be cautious. By the way, the bath water should be
warm enough, about 90-100 degrees F as well as the bathroom itself
(about 75 degrees F). Your little sunny may get chilled very quickly.
The surface of a tube is too slippery, so put a special mat or a
towel in it every time you are going to give a bath to your child. If
you are not sure that choose the temperature of water correctly, you
may buy a special bath. There are several spots which indicate
that the water is too hot or cold, while you are filling a tub.
Don't
fill a tub more than 2 inches high for children up to 6 months and
waist-high for older babies in sitting position. Teach you child to
sit, but not to stand, in a tub. Different shampoos and soaps may dry
your child's skin, so use them separately. Don't leave your child
sitting in a soap water for a long while. It may irritate the urethra
and lead to different urinary tract infections. So start from the
games and calm your child, then wash his/her body, eyes, ears.
Afterwards take him/her out of a tub, wrap in a towel and start to
wash his/her head with shampoo, trying to avoid eyes.
Don't
lay your child in a crib just after the bathing. It is so incredible
adventure for him/her. So, stay with your baby
for a while till
he/she calms down.
And
the last thing. Of course, we all know about this, but I want to
remind you one thing. Keep hair-driers and other electric
appliances away from the tub.
